JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale APIs and services that power our products. You’ll lead technical design, ship reliable code, and mentor teammates. This is a unique opportunity to establish a solid technical foundation and influence the direction of our technology stack.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Architect, implement, and maintain backend services.
- Design clean, well-documented REST/GraphQL APIs and data models that serve our web application.
- Own service reliability including comprehensive testing, observability, performance, and incident response.
- Collaborate with Product/Design to break down problems and deliver iteratively.
- Lead code reviews, author technical docs, and mentor engineers.
- Drive technical decisions on architecture, tooling, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- 6–8+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Typescript/Next.js or equivalent experience in Python, Go, Java, etc.
- Deep experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred, MySQL) including query optimization and schema design.
- Experience with caching strategies (Redis) and message queuing systems (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ).
- Proven track record with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker preferred, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- Experience designing secure APIs and with service reliance patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with real-time communication/WebSockets.
- Takes initiative and drives projects from conception to completion.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Background in investment management or multifamily real estate.

Additional Compensation:
Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including business requirements, prior experience, current skills and geographical location.
Corporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in a quarterly or annual bonus program based on individual and company performance.
Onsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, this role may be eligible to participate in weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly bonus programs.
